My New/Old Treasure!!!!

This was my weekend purchase. I was so excited to finally get it. I have been eying this Hosier for a while now and I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. But I finally just had to do it. The bottom piece actually belonged to my husbands grandma and then someone found the top piece that matched it really well.

Now comes the fun part of decorating it. I have put my cookbooks and a few other things on it to make it look not so empty. So now I get to go treasure hunting for some old things from the kitchen. Since I put it in my kitchen I only thought that it was right to fill it with old kitchen utensils. I put an old butter churn on the top and an old flour sifter and jelly jars in the cabinet.

I can remember in my grandparents old Farm House that they had one similar to this. It had a wood finish on it and it sat in her kitchen/dining room. I was about 18 at the time that they moved and sold everything from the house but I wish that I would have been a little smarter and get a few things from there. I did get a couple things that I still have. And I will never get rid of. I loved to get things that belonged to a family member and that have stories within the family. It just makes it that much more valuable!

Have a great week!!!

What A Great Weekend!!

It was such a nice weekend. It got up in the 80's yesterday and today. We did yard work all day yesterday. It was so nice to get outside in the sun and work in the yard. My Lilly's and Tulips are starting to come up. I like it when all the flowers start to turn and there is so much color in my flower beds.
Today we did a little more yard work. Finished what we didn't get done yesterday. Then we went for a drive up to a little place that we like to go camping during the summer. It was so beautiful up there. This picture is from there. About 2 yrs. ago a huge fire went through there and destroyed everything. Some of you may have heard about it. It was called the School Fire here in Washington. But now everything is starting to come back and things are starting to green up again. It has a bunch of little ponds for fishing and a lot of hiking trails and 4-wheeling trails as well. It is just a very pretty place and very relaxing. Plus it is only about a half an hour away.
I hope you all had as good of a weekend as I did!
Take care,

Candles!!

These are the candles that I was telling you about that I make. It really is a lot of fun and they are really pretty easy to make. I am planning on doing a candle party here in a couple weeks. So I am trying to get a whole bunch of candles made up for that. I am pretty excited to have this party it will be my first one. So if it goes well I may just have to start doing more of them!

Tomorrow I am off to Walla Walla to go to a couple consignment shops. I get most of my containers for my candles from there. They are super cheap and you never know what you will be able to find in there. I don't only use Mason jars for my candles. I will use anything that looks like it would be nice with a candle in it. Plus Mason jars get kind of expensive.

Yesterday I had to take my son to his doctors appointment for his 1 year check up. I think that the shots hurt me more than they hurt him. This time he had to have 4 shots. Poor thing! But now his appointments are going to get further apart so I don't have to go through that as often and neither does he.

Have a great Day!
Take care for now,
Kizzy

Virgin Blogger

I am a stay at home mom, I am a part time candle maker. I make soy candles and sell them at my in-laws Coffee Shop. I have a good time doing it. It really is a lot of fun. Plus it makes my house smell really good when I am making them. And I will never have to pay the high prices for candles again.

This I my son Tanner. He just turned
1 on April 4th. He shares the same day with an Uncle and an Aunt. It is amazing how fast he has grown in a year.

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of '07. She is very strong and bull headed so she will do whatever it takes to beat this. She just got done with the 12 long weeks of Chemotherapy and now she is on to radiation. I believe that she has 6 weeks of that to go though. So we are all praying that this will work.
I am new at this so please forgive me if I ramble.
My Aunt is the one that introduced me to this blogging. You may have seen her blog theheartsofhartmann. She is very crafty and loves to find a good bargain. Then put her own twist on things. I wish that I had more time to do things like that. I guess that will be all for today. I will soon post pictures of my candles so you all can see then. Or if you are interested you can purchase them!

Take care for now,
Kizzy
